When looking for a health club, an important thing to consider is hiring a personal trainer.
Working with a trainer will help you in a variety of ways.
Your personal trainer will help you get results...without wasted time and effort. She'll develop a roadmap for you, then coach you every step of the way to your goals.
Your trainer will help you avoid injury. She'll teach you proper body mechanics and form, information you can use every day to participate fully in life without getting hurt.
Your trainer will motivate you. Because you have a "real" appointment, you're likely to keep it. But there's more to it than that. Once you're here, your trainer will read your mood and fatigue level, adjusting your workout and its intensity level to current conditions. You'll never be asked to do more than you can do, but you will be asked to do all you can do on any given day. You'll surprise yourself again and again, and that will feel great!
Your trainer will keep boredom away. She'll make every session different, changing the moves and methods to keep your brain engaged and your body guessing.
Your trainer will encourage you. Since most of us toil every day without applause or personal cheerleaders, this is highly motivational-even addicting!
Your trainer will assure your success. And success is the strongest motivation of all.
Please don't be deterred by your age,
fitness level, size, or shape. Our trainers
don't judge you, they mentor and motivate you!

"I started my fitness career over 20 years ago as an aerobics instructor and through
that experience realized how much I enjoyed helping people incorporate exercise into their lives." |
When I joined Oasis, Kim suggested I try a personal trainer to help me get started. I
was apprehensive in the beginning, but I enjoyed working with Lisa so much that I continued
it until the very day we had to move to Florida. This was my first Personal Training
experience, but I will compare everyone I use from now on to the standards she set. She
was always attentive to my needs in working out and in dieting. She always listened when
we discussed my goals. She kept me coming back with her enthusiasm, variety of workouts,
and positive attitude. I never felt judged or inadequate. And, as someone without a lot
of positive workout experiences, that meant a lot. Thank you, Lisa. I promise to continue
what we started in my new hometown.

Middle-aged, chubby and out of shape (not to mention without perfect health habits!),
I really had to be talked into training. It felt like such a risk to share my
physical flaws with someone else. Today, I'm a convert. I love my trainer, and I know
she cares about me-the whole me, physically and emotionally. Because of training,
I've actually shown up and worked out for more than six months! And because I've done
the work, I'm stronger, I sleep better, my clothes fit MUCH better, and I'm happily off
my anti-depressants. Now that I'm an official "gym rat" (ha ha) I might even
start watching my diet. THIS much I can do. I've proven that now. Thanks, Kelly.

Turning 62, I was tired, sluggish, and weighed over 262 pounds. My doctor told me to
lose weight by walking, so I tried that. But it didn't take long to see that walking
and watching my diet wasn't going to be enough get the job done. Finally, I stopped
in at Oasis for information and decided to join. I signed up for Personal Training
and Personal Pilates. At first, I wished I could take a bath in Bengay! But things
got better fast...and soon I had more energy and I slept better. My balance and strength
improved, and I noticed my posture was getting better, too. (These days I can even turn
my head around enough to back up my car...and that had been a real problem!) I made
the right decision to join Oasis that day...it's just the best thing I've done for myself.
